Ask or Tell: My husband's birthname was Edward Wade Lowdermilk. His father was James Larry Lowdermilk (briefly married to Sheila Miller) and grandfather Earnest Wade Lowdermilk. I haven't found this line anywhere, but they were from North Carolina. Anyone heard of them? Any info on his father?
I found nothing for this one. Any one out there who can help?

Question Asked:
I am trying to find out if you know of a Keith G Lowdermilk who was killed during WW2. He died on 27th July 1944 and was originally from Guildford County, North Carolina.
I want to find out where he is buried and what regiment he served in?
Thanks

Reply: From 'Jacob Lautermilch Family 1716' and all I could find. Anyone know more?

Hallelujah! I had said that if Hillary became president, I would move to Mexico, wear a sombrero and eat chili peppers.
Now that the great one is gone, we only have to choose between the lessor of two evils and I'm not sure which that is.

Peter asked; What kind of rabbit, what kind of bird?
The rabbit is a cotton tail and the bird is a road runner.

The Cross F Ranch is just far enough south and west to have a few Road Runners and not quite far enough to have Jack Rabbits. The ranch does have cattle, mostly Brangus, a cross between Angus and Brahma to be good beef cattle and able to tolerate the Texas heat and hard, hot rocky ground.
After spending some time at the ranch, I now know more about cows than I ever wanted to know. The main points being that they are big, hungry and stupid. They think that anything green is meant for them to eat and anything not green may be dessert so they should take a bite to find out. When I needed to put a fence around the house to keep the cows from eating the grass in the front yard and out of the way while the work is being done on the house, I used some little orange flags to mark where I wanted to place the fence. The cows ate those flags.
The ranch is large with lots of trees and wild animals and I want pictures of those wild animals so I bought a "Game Camera." The game camera has an infrared motion detector and automatically takes a picture when an animal moves in front of it. The camera is large because it is battery operated, has enough battery to run for a month and it's in a weatherproof case.
I mounted the camera inside a corner of the new fence where a cow could not step on it to try it out before putting it way out some place. I knew that cows, coyotes, skunks, armadillos, wild pigs and other things passed that corner sometimes. I left the camera there for a day then checked to see if it had taken any pictures. I was surprised to find that it had taken a picture of a cow's tongue. The cow couldn't reach it to take a bite out of it so she stuck her head through the fence and licked the camera just in case it was a lollypop or an ice cream cone.

Will the Mars Phoenix Lander find evidence of life on Mars?
My guess is that it will find just enough evidence of extinct primitive life to spur searches for life on other planets. The findings will be controversial with some saying they are false justification for spending great sums of money and others saying they are proof positive of visitors from other planets.
Speaking of visitors from other planets; Am I the only one to notice that they all travel millions and millions of miles and then arrive and depart here only at night?

Response to yesterdays "Presidential Term Limits." Edited to protect the senders identity.

I will assume your comments about a mother-daughter team are not in any way sexist, rather bias against this mother-daughter team.

As far as "experience": My husband has been a software engineer almost half his life. I have been married to him almost half my life. I could not program my way out an '80s VCR blinking 12:00!!
To claim experience based on proximity is asinine.

My response: Have you learned nothing about your husband's work? You have no relationship with any of the other programmers? He has NO influence on you or you on him? If your answers to these are No, No, Yes, then OK, you are qualified to be a programmer!

And yet another heard from:
I will go along with the presidental line if you can make it retroactive to the current family!

BLOG's (Web Logs) have become very popular.
The family newsletter was often read but seldom received input from the readers so I am trying to combine the two into something that works for me and for the family.

This page will have my thoughts, pictures and responses to anything input on the "Ask or Tell" page.
The input page has provision for the senders name and email address. These are not required
but they are wanted and of course must be included to get a direct email response from me.

My most ardent fans and the ones asking the most questions are my grandchildren so you know this page will be "Kid Friendly.

As most of you know, I have been planning for some time to move from Euless to the CrossF Ranch in McKinney Texas. The move is waiting for the ranch house to be remodeled and a barn/workshop to be built. I have been spending as much time as possible at the ranch and have taken a few pictures.

And now, a little controversy for the adults.
Presidential term limits are for two terms and this is good. It helps to keep us a democracy.
I think the limits should be expanded such that the immediate family of the President, his/her spouse, brothers, sisters, and children are included in the limit.

We now have the wife of a former president running for the office and rumors that his daughter may soon enter politics with an eye on following in Mother's footsteps.
The wife is claiming that "experience" is one of her strong points. I claim that her experience should count towards the term limit.
The majority now believes that the current father/son combo was not a good idea. How much worse can husband/wife/daughter be?
A LOT!
